Senior Manager, IT Project Management Office-01791
Summary:
Adobe IT's Project Management Office (IT-PMO) will lay the foundation for best-in-class planning and execution of IT projects. This critical, pan-IT function will manage, govern, and report on standards, policies, and methodologies that will be followed by all IT project managers and solution delivery teams.

The IT-PMO Manager will build and lead a team of project managers, project administrators, and data analysts in establishing an effective and efficient project estimation process, resource allocation process, and a set of software development methodologies that will enable Adobe's Global Applications organization to deliver business capabilities with agility, innovation, and cost-effectiveness. The ultimate goal of the IT-PMO is to ensure greater project success for all IT projects.

This motivated, driven individual will serve as an agent of change and will champion project management policies and procedures at all levels in the organization. The successful individual will not only be outstanding at defining and implementing processes, but will also be ruthlessly focused on creating 'value add' processes that enable the organization to be lean and agile. In addition to direct staff, the IT-PMO Manager will chair a committee comprised of Project Delivery Managers representing all IT functions aimed ensuring IT-wide commitment and support for standards and policies set by the IT-PMO. Finally, the IT-PMO Manager will actively participate in IT Portfolio Review meetings with the Office of the CIO, IT Delivery Directors, and IT Client Engagement to assess the overall health of the IT Portfolio.
Responsibilities:
  • Drive the standardization of software development methodologies for Adobe IT project managers and establish mechanisms to ensure adherence to those methodologies.
  • Drive the definition and documentation of a standard project estimation process to enable better predictability around project costs, faster project ramp-up, and increased success with regard to on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Establish and manage a project resource allocation process that enables efficient and effective utilization of IT resources.
  • Establish IT-wide KPIs, metrics, and a reporting/review process to ensure continuous improvement of the project management discipline.
  • Collaborate with the Office of the CIO to ensure that policies, standards, and tools effectively support the strategic and portfolio processes.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • Experience in a project management office leadership role
  • Bachelor's and/or advanced degree
  • Team management experience
  • Ability to design, formalize, implement, and educate company personnel on the Agile software development and other project management processes
  • Ability to create internal networks and utilize them to effect change
  • Excellent organizational, written and oral communication and influencing skills
  • Careful attention to detail and solid analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, complex environment with multiple initiatives in motion at the same time
  • Experience reporting to and creating reports for Executive Management
  • Makes appropriate, realistic and timely decisions based on consideration of the facts and alternatives.
  • Communicates effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing; including effective presentation skills.
  • Proven track record in aligning project outcomes with stakeholder's expectations and standards.
  • Motivates the team using appropriate tools and techniques in order to increase commitment to the objectives.

Actionscript Engineering Manager-01016
Summary:
The Adobe Flash Player team is seeking a technical Software Engineering Manager to join the Flash Player team and help lead its ActionScript engineering team. The ActionScript engineering team is responsible for the development of the compilers and virtual machines implementing the ActionScript (a.k.a., JavaScript, ECMAScript) language.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the Flash Player product strategy, the evolution of the ActionScript language, and the future of the web.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage the software engineers building a world-class platform for Rich Internet Applications.
  • Deliver high-quality, timely releases that provide the committed functionality.
  • Hands-on technical leadership and deep understanding of technical issues and tradeoffs related to language evolution and VM development.
  • Lead and mentor the engineering team to ensure that great results are achieved. Provide the encouragement, coaching, and inspiration required for building a high performing team. Define team goals and objectives based on strategic corporate priorities and lead the team in meeting them.

Requirements:
  • B.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering Management, or equivalent. Masters preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of management and leadership experience in building and delivering high-profile products.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience developing applications in Java or C++.
  • Proven experience in all aspects of software development process including requirements definition, architecture, software design and development, performance tuning, and quality assurance.
  • Experience with implementing compilers, interpreters, and virtual machine technology is essential.
  • Prior experience with dynamic language optimization, run-time compilers, and performance within resource-constrained environments is a plus
